The governor never even saw this coming. The police are telling us that he walked out of a grocery store right here in Islamabad, and as soon as he walked out, he was gunned down by one of his own elite security guards, a man whose only job was to protect the governor. The doctors are telling us that this security guard shot the governor 26 times. The governor died instantly. And then the security guard just gave himself up to police. And the police are telling us when they asked him why he did this, he said it was because he felt that the governor had spoken out against Pakistan's blasphemy laws, and he felt that was an insult to Islam.
We're now learning that Captain Owen Honors has been relieved of his command of the "USS Enterprise." Those racy and raunchy videos that came about after being taped under the leadership of this man, Captain Owen Honors. He says it was meant to be a skit. As you know if you were a part of watching the story yesterday, they included a lot of F-bombs, anti-gay slurs, totally not appropriately, obviously, for someone who commands an aircraft carrier.
Well, I'm feeling a bit of mixed emotions. I must admit that, there is a little anger, but there's also joy. And the joy overrides the anger. You know? I'm just so overwhelmed with the joy of just being free.
I think it was just a fair system. But, you know, I think that could have happened to anyone. And I'm just so unfortunate that it happened to me. And I just feel that the system needs to be corrected somehow. I just plan on, you know, looking forward and putting it back, you know, the things behind me and just enjoying my life with my wife. I'm now married, you know. Just living a joyous, peaceful life.
